The Bible tells us to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31). But how can we truly love others if we don’t first have a healthy relationship with ourselves? Improving your relationship with yourself is not about vanity or self-obsession; it’s about recognizing your inherent worth as a creation of God and treating yourself with kindness, respect, and compassion.

Here are some biblical principles to guide you on your journey to a better relationship with yourself:

1. Recognize Your Inherent Worth:

  • You are created in God’s image: Genesis 1:27 tells us that God created humanity in His own image. This means you possess inherent value and dignity.
  • You are fearfully and wonderfully made: Psalm 139:14 declares that you are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Embrace your uniqueness and the gifts God has given you.
  • You are loved unconditionally: Romans 8:38-39 assures us that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Rest in this truth and know that you are deeply loved.
